At roughly 6:30pm on Friday, a white Toyota sedan mowed down multiple pedestrians along Burke street before colliding into two vehicles at the Russel Street intersection.

While no one along Burke Street suffered any fatal injuries, one of the drivers who was struck at the intersection died at the scene.

Police were quick to block off multiple areas around the CBD, allowing for investigative officers, fire brigades, and SES units to access the scene.

Superintendent Zorka Dunstan spoke to the Media, confirming that it was not terror related, and that the driver had previous incidents with the Police.
