Deep within Melbourne's countryside, a local shearing farm works alongside the fashion group 'Woolmarks', in preparing renewable, biodegradable, and ethically sourced wool from their Merino sheep.

While Woolmarks and the farm hold strict animal welfare laws, the nature of shearing proves to be a demanding exercise for the sheep. Once a year, they are briefly removed from their peaceful wanderings, and are put through an intense ritual of limited mobility, and forced undressing of their wool.

 

Anyone could imagine the shock of such a divergent environment for the sheep.
